The purpose of this website is to alert every American we can reach, to a very serious and widespread motor vehicle safety problem that is responsible for a number of injuries and deaths all throughout our country. Right now, as you read this, the odds are a little better than 1 in 3 that you, or another member of your household is driving an unsafe vehicle – one that has been recalled due to a safety problem, but not yet properly fixed.
We now have an estimated 37 million of these unfixed, recalled passenger vehicles that are currently registered, and out driving on our roads today. There are also roughly 24 million child safety seats, or “car seats” that have been recalled over the past 13 years, but never fixed. In addition, there are also a number of unsafe, recalled tires out on our roads, that shouldn’t be there.
The good news however, is that the problem is largely correctable – it just requires that each of us do a little homework on our own vehicles, car seats and tires to see if they might have been recalled in the past, but not properly fixed.
This website was created to help you do that homework. Here you will learn why the problem exists, and how it continues to grow worse. You will also learn how to find out if you have any of these unfixed, recalled vehicles, child safety seats or tires - and what you should do about them, if you do have any.
In addition, you will learn how you can help make sure that you are quickly alerted to any new recalls and other safety issues involving your vehicles, tires and car seats, which might arise in the future. This will help insure that you have at least a fighting chance of maintaining your items in their safest possible condition, and it will help minimize the chances of your ending up with any dangerous, unfixed recalls from here on out.
